Pet Snake

This is not a venomous snake.

In this summer, I enjoyed to teach about this snake in English.

Shrimp anatomy

Shrimp can be discrimated with some different features of prawn. Look at their antenni carefully.

A child was very happy to catch "crawfish" in the valley near of our new classroom.

There are so many arthropod and insects and reptile including amphibiam.

Happy children in new classroom~

Children from Seoul visited to new classroon last Sunday.

They catched many crayfishes in the valley and learned about interesting facts of crayfish.

3 Tentacle river snail

It's left side of tentacle is separated with 2 at the top.

Macrophthalmus Japonicus

We can discriminate female and male by their celiped.

If 2 legs are same, it is female but the male is larger than one.

They have 2 antenna and eyestalk and rostrum between antenna and eye on the head.

They can walk forward and backward and sideways.

They communicate through their claw-waving to fight with other males or invites females to mate.

Laying egg river snail~

River snail lay 5~6 eggs in a time and then die leaving only shell and operculum.

The female river snail is sacrificed to her eggs in laying.

Apple snail use siphon to take in air on surface water.

River snails have 1 pair of tentacle and gill to breathe.

Apple snails have 2 pairs of tentacle and gill/lung combination respiratory system.

They are all gonochorism, not hermaphodite.

Female river snail was killed by her babies

You can discrimate which is dead or alive snail.

After laying egg, all female river snail are killed by her babies in their inner body.

Their babies eat them to breed.

River snail have 1 pair of tentacle. One of male snail's is a little bending at the top of right.
They are gonochorism, not hermaphodite.
After mating female snail lay eggs.

But, female have all but same size and straight tentacle.

After hatching in it, Female river snail made a sacrifaced to their eggs and then die.

What do tadpole eat?

Children saw some tadpoles and frolets eat one another tadpole.

When they are very hungry, they are carnivore.

So tadpole are omnivore.

When you raise tadpole at your home, don't use tap water and change water each 2 days.

They like to live together with snails.

Need : Large jar with women stocking for air condition, purified water, some vegatable or stone.

How to raise tadpole to adult frog~~

Tadpole grow up to froglet which have 4 legs and tail.

In froglet stage, their gills disappering and breathe through lungs.

So, you need a stone on the water.

Korea water is enough pure and clean for them to grow uo to adult frog.

Making homemade volcano

The acid in the vinegar react with the baking soda making Carbon dioxide bubble.

Put vinegar in the bottle and mix food coloring which you wanted color.

And then put "dish wash liquid" in the bottle.

Now you can see the eruption of magma.

Magma is the molten rock and lave come out from the vent.

Make homemade plastic ring

Children made plastic as photo.
Only needed milk and vinegar and food coloring~.
The acid in the vinegar react with the casein in the milk making the plastic.

After making plastic mold what you wanted shape like as star or heart, you can get your own accessories.

Procedure : Boil the milk( 200ml ) with food coloring until simmering.
and then add vinegar ( 16:1 ratio, milk to ninegar ) and stir until it begins to gel. And mold it to beautiful cast.
Now let it cool and wash rubbery stuff with water.

You get your own ring~~~
