The last week, Oct-Making Almond Butter

In this week, children made almond butter as floowing procedure;

1. Whipping cream- Fat 74%

2. Plain Yogut

3. Almond or Peanut

4. Bottle w/lid

You need only mixing and shaking until whey and butter produced.

The 2nd week, Oct, 2010-Sparrow

Children are looking at "dead sparrow" with magnifier.

They learned external and internal anatomy of sparrow.

The 1st week, Oct-Prawn Salad

Children learned about shrimp and prawn last week.

And they enjoyed taste prawn salad.

They found the difference between shrimp and prawn as following;

1. The shape of gills

2. The number of "claw" attached on walking legs

3. Abdomenal segment

The last week, Sep-Snail

During hatching from egg, snails are getting stronger and older.

They like all kinds of vegatables and fruits to eat.

Tomorrow, we will explore about snails more detailly.

The 3rd week-Butterfly Specimen

In this week, we will make "butterfly specimen".

You should prepare "a small paperbox".

Corkroach Trap

Last week children made "trap for mosquito and corkroach".

Recipe : Honey( or sugar), yeast and candy.

Learning with Mom

The boy who the son of scientist specified in "Green House Effect" in Korea has learned his new specific science.

He made his own "Smell Jjang" perfume last week with his mom.

And he was proud of his perfume.

The 1st week, Sep-Overview of insect

In this week, our children will learn about overview of insect.

Using big microscope, they will investigate their own-catched insects.

We will focus what species of insect are edible.

The last week, Aug-Mudfish

The sister and brother are catching mudfish.

The sister want to go "Africa" to learn wild animals.

Do you know how to kill mudfish in humane?

How to care snail in home

Tomorrow, our children will learn about how to

care their baby snail at home.

If snails eat anything containing salt or sugar, they will die.

They don't like sunlight so too much light will cause thier retracting to shell.

The 2nd week, 2010-Lobster

The lobster is one of "Decapod" animal.

Deca means that ten, for example, decade means

10 years. Pod menas that leg.

So they have 5 pairs of leg.

Each pair has own distinct function.

They swim back but cran walk side.

You will investigate and measure legal size with big live lobster in this week.

Vocabulary : Exoskeleton, Pincers, Cephalothorax

The 1st week, Aug-How to tell the difference between turtle and tortoise

Turtle is the one of reptile.

Vocabulary : Reptile, Carapace, Scute, Plastron

Turtle can upright their body using their long neck.

There are clear differences between tortoise and turtle.

In this week, you can enjoy swimming together with this turtle.

How to eat conch in Korean Style

Conch is the one of favorite sea food in Korea.

1. Boil conch and tip the red pepper paste

-----------RECIPE------------

1. Soak dried beka squid in cold water about 1 hour and cut dried red pepper and small green orion

 2. Make tangleweed soup after short time soaking band boiling in water and remove tangleweed and mix spice as your flavor(like as cornsyrup, sugar, or butter..etc)

 3. Boil down slowly with Ggodduki and spice in low heat.

.4. When spice almost dried, mix sesame oil with prepared red pepper and small green onion pieces.

The 3rd week, July-The Young Octopus anatomy

The young octopus is called as "Three foot octopus" in Korea because they have very slim foot.

All octopus have eight legs.

In this week, our children will cut off three kinds of octopus.

Vocabulary : mollusca, cephalopoda, camouflage

Why is this called as "sea squirt"?

Sea squirt have two "siphons".

One siphon draws in water and the other expel it.

Vocabulary : siphone, invertebrate, incurrent, excurrent, tunic

Sea cucumber anatomy

The 1st week, July 2010-Why sea cucumber is called as "ginseng from the sea"

People regard sea cucumber as ginseng from the sea.

Why ?

Because sea cucumber is good for our health.
