The 3rd week, Jan-What causes day and night?

Earth rotates toward the east. This causes the Sun to appear to rise in the eastern sky, move across the sky from east to west, and appear to set in the western sky.

Younger children do not iunderstand that Earth's rotation cause night and day. Their common experiences tell them that the Sun, the Moon, and stars seem to ove around Earth. It is difficult to change their perceptions.

The 2nd week, Jan- The Sun

The temperature of the surface of the Sun is 5,778 Kelvin(About 6,000 Centigrade).

That's extremely hot, and gives the Sun's light its yellow color.

If the Sun were any cooler, it would be more of a reddish color.

And if the Sun were hotter, it would look blue.

The Sun is hot enough to give off the white yellow light that we see.

The temperature of the inner core of the Sun is about 15,000,000 Centigrade.

Activity 1:

1) Blow up the ballons

2) Rub the ballons against your head, carpet, or clothing(Woolen prefered)

3)Turn off the light

4)Rub the two ballons together

What happens?

*Light travels almost a million times faster than sound,

so we see the lightning before we hear the thunder

12월첫주-Make cloud

Materials : Ice cube
Warm Water about 1/3 in 2 litter bottle.
Process : 1. Put a ice cube on the top of plasstic bottle.
2. Watch it!
3. You can see cloud and water drop.
